These two ads appear in the August 13, 1737 edition of the SC Gazette:

"TO BE SOLD for ready Money or Credit, a Tract of Land on Ashepoo,
containing between 5 and 600 acres, about 200 good corn Land, the rest
very good Swamp and Savanna, a Landing on Deeter's Creek, about a Mile
froom the River.  Any Person inclinable to purchase the same, may apply
to WILLIAM ROPER in Charles Town, or JOHN HUTCHINSON at Ashepoo.  A
white Servant's Time to be disposed of, who has near 4 Years to Serve."

and

"TO BE SOLD At Mr. WM. ANDERSON's in George Town to the highest Bidder
at publick Sale, on the 27th Instant, agreeable to the Will of ELIAS
HORRY lately deceased, a Tract of Land, containing in the whole 750
Acres, situate on the North side of Santee River, joining ELIAS HORRY's
Plantation, the Payment is to be made in 12 Months after the Day of
Sale, giving Security for the same to DANIEL and ELIAS HORRY who are
impowered and will convey the same to the Purchaser."
