Hi all...I'm looking for a little geography...I have a William Coates m 
Francis, Will made out in Camden District but located in Kershaw 
County...probated in 1784

Then I have a William Coats, with 200 acres of land on Kings Creek just 
south of the Enoree River...sold in 1794

What is the general distance between these two areas?

And the really big question is...do you think these two Williams are the 
same or are they two different Williams...?

Also in the Camden Will, William's wife Francis was appointed 
executor...but the Kings Creek land was sold by Barton Coats as executor 
and his wife Nettie as co-executor...

Now it is true that William of Camden named a son as Barton in his 
will....but I also know that names can cross between siblings or 
families...hmmmm...guess the two Williams wouldn't be brothers...could 
be uncle and nephew maybe...

Does any one have any information as to the probate practices in SC 
about that time...?
