I shouldn't have opened my mouth, because I really know nothing else about 
it.  I have never been there.  Now my cousin from Columbia met and married 
someone form there.  His name is David Boyd Dodd.  He must be about 35.  I 
have not met his family.  My cousin is Susan Davenport.  Our grandmother's 
were sisters.  She has not lived down there but about 4 years now.  I do know 
that his family owns plenty of land there for whatever that is worth.  The 
plantation may have been his families....really don't know.
It is in Colleton County, South Carolina.  Maybe that can help you.  Have you 
tried the Charleston rootsweb page or investigated Colleton County.
