Subject: Roll call: PLEASE (and thank you) put names in subject line From: Gkinard Date: May 13, 1999 I have kept my mouth shut and my typewriter keys silent during our recent unfortunate Jerry Springer Show-type goings on. I too wanted everyone to return to genealogy. And hooray, we seem to be headed in that direction. But now I wish to make a suggestion. Could each emailer participating in a roll call please put your surnames in the subject line so those of us who are tracing certain families can do a quick delete of those that are not applicable? It sure saves time. I'd hate to miss being able to help someone with valuable information. I, as I am sure many people do, get 100 to 200 pieces of email per day that are genealogy-related. I don't open and read each one of them....I look for those names or geographic locations that will help me pare down the volume. I only open those letters. Thanks to those of you who are including surnames in your subject line. And to those who aren't, I feel sure it was not unthinking, it just probably did not occur to you that it might facilitate your receiving answers. Happy hunting!
