Subject: Roll Call for Kelly and Perry From: Martinjac Date: May 14, 1999 Hope someone out there can help - here is my problem. I have been trying to prove to the D.A.R. that Benjamin Kelly (1770-1856) and Naomi Wilson (1785-after 1856) had a daughter, Elizabeth, (1807-?) who married into my Perry line -James Perry. I can prove by census records that James was married to an Elizabeth - same area same age. I have a grant deed from Fairfield County, Oct 1848 showing Benj Kelly, Wm Kelly, James Perry & Elizabeth his wife, - plus all the rest of Benj. children - signing a quit claim to property of one of the sons who died to his widow, Malvina Kelly. I have a report Brent Holcomb did for a distant cousin of mine wherein he states the quit claim shows the relationship of all the people signing the deed to be children of Benj. Kelly. BUT - the D.A.R. says this isn't enough. Does anyone out there have any further information that would help? Benj and Naomi are NOT on the 1850 Census anywhere in South Carolina and I have tried other areas with no luck. Would appreciate anything that could sway the D.A.R.
