Robert b. abt 1682 in probably Ireland or Scotland came to Anson and
Mecklenburg counties of NC in 1752 with his wife Mary ALEXANDER and
their children from Cecil Co MD. They had arrived in Somerset MD
and were on the  1723 tax list of Wicomico Hundred along with
the ALEXANDERs.
Robert's will was probated in Meck 1765 wherein he names his
children as follows: wife, Mary; dau.Mary m. William NEELY;
Elizabeth 1726 m. Adam MEEK died Cabarrus NC, Hannah
or Ann m. Alexander LEWIS, James b. abt 1725 m. Mary NEELY,
John m. Margaret Fairbanks, Nathaniel m. Elizabeth Conyers, Robert jr.
