Bobby, I have a LOT more information and I'm confused too.I can't even
make a good guess as to who is Gower's father yet but the will or estate
of Richard H. Dennis has to turn up somewhere.I'm on my way to
Hanceville,
the genealogy Dept. at George Wallace Comm. College which is the first
LDS Family History Center not in the Church, to order microfilm that I
hope will help. I learned yesterday that Richard Gower Dennis probablly
served in the Rev. War under Gen. Francis Marion, the Swamp Fox.They had
no records bacause they were organized under the Britishes nose and as
you might be aware were possibly the first to use gurilla tactics. There
are records that Richard G.Dennis contributed food to them at any rate
which qualifies his descendants for the Sons or Dau. of the Rev.I will
continue to post info as I get it typed,I have a LOT of transcriptions
in longhand to add.

I ran across a source yesterday that said the person mentioned had his
land confiscated but that it was restored.I assume that means he was
accused of being a Loyalist. Can anyone recommend a source of information
on confiscations in SC after the REV. War?
