Hello,

I am a new member of this list and have been lurking for about a week. I
have just gotten into researching my family history and find this very
fascinating. I am looking for information on my father's family. Dad's
name was Heyward Hoyt BOZARD, son of Boyce Furman BOZARD and Wilma Evelyn
KING. I have accumulated a lot of history on the King family and some on
the Bozard family. I am in particular need of information about the
ancestors of John L. BOZARD (born 22nd of April, 1822 - died 6th of June
1888). John L. served in the Confederate Army and was called "Captain John
L."
I am also looking for information on my mother's family. My mother was
Jacquelyn ("Jackie") Barbara SURLES, daughter of William Edgar SURLES (born
24th of April, 1882 - died 1st of February, 1952) and Mary Geneva SAULS
(born 2nd of September, 1900 - died 12th of December, 1992). I do not know
anything about the parents, etc., of William Edgar SURLES. I believe that
the SAULS family lived somewhere around Smoaks, SC. Mary Geneva's parents
were James C. SAULS (born 31st of January, 1873 - died 19th of July, 1967)
and Carrie WALSH (born 27th of July, 1876 - died 20th of September, 1956).
Carrie WALSH is believed to have been adopted as a child by the Walsh
family which I assume was here in Orangeburg. I have no other name for
her.
Any assistance with the above will greatly be appreciated.
Regards,

Heyward H. ("Skipper") Bozard, Jr.
