Subject: Re: Research in Charleston / SC Historical Society and web sites From: Southusa Date: January 22, 2000
Elizabeth,
I have spent hours sitting in the quiet South Carolina Historical
Society buried in books and manuscripts. It is worth the visit! Located at
100 Meeting Street, in downtown Charleston, it is within walking distance
From the new Charleston County Library (where you will find the South
Carolina Room) on Calhoun Street.
Be sure to check out the manuscripts of E. Stanley Barnhill, a
well-known genealogist who has researched many of South Carolina's families.
Enjoy your visit to the Holy City!
