This is a personal memoir by 0. Preston Davis, who was born in 1910 and raised
in the Eulonia community in Marion County, South Carolina. Drawing on his memory
and those of his three sisters, he has written a readable account of his early
life which deals with social life and customs, with crops and how they were
planted, tilled, and harvested on subsistence farms, and with his father's
extensive business interests in Marion and Horry counties in the South Carolina
Low Country.
