If this was a relatively recent prison inmate, contact the Department of
Corrections in Atlanta. They have some old records for one of my ancestors
From 1947 on an index card. Doesn't help much .Has the inmate number,
charges for which  he was convicted and length of sentence. My ancestor died
in prison, and still they don't have much. They were still pretty helpful. I
looked upthe telephone number online and they provided the info over the
telephone.
