REESEVILLE AME 1868
Alcolu, Clarendon County, SC

The grandfather of Mr. P. S. Harvin for his slaves organized the church.
After the War Between the States Mr. Harvin gave an acre lot at the station
for a church.  Under the leadership of an ex-slave named Pastor Payton, who
1868 - 1886, a church was erected, and the old one was abandoned.
