Claire,
Red Bank Church is actually in Saluda, SC, about 16 miles from
Edgefield. In 1796 that
area may have been Edgefield County. There was Old Saludy Town a few
miles from
present day Saluda. I'm not sure how the town of Saluda ended up
where it is today. I have
been to Red Bank Church as it is close to Little Stevens Creek
Baptist Church, McKindree
Methodist Church and Mountain Creek Baptist Church. Little Stevens is
just a few miles
of Saluda off Hiway 378 and Meeting St. Rd. McKindree is on Hiway 378
toward Hiway 25
about 8 miles out of Saluda. Mountain Creek is near McKindree and
Hiway 25. I have a
scanner to connect to my pc and hope to get pictures I have of all
these churches on my webpage (see below). I'm not sure about the
orginal members at Red Bank, but will check
at our library one day this week .
Try the SC GenWeb site below and click on Saluda County on the
map (or any other county which you wish to visit. Red Bank shows
there. A Red Hill shows in Edgefield. You
can see the churches and cemeteries, but there are no family names or
history of them listed.

:According to notes I've found, the Red Bank Church on the Little
:Saluda River (Edgefield SC) had 40 members in 1796. Does any one
have
:a list of those members? I would appreciate any info
