Hi Karen, Should you find that your ancestors came through 'the back-country' of SC you might wish to check along the Shenandoah Valley and NC which was the usual migration path of the 1700s. I have been researching a LOVE family which had ties to a RAMEY family. A John LOVE and a Wm. RAMEY married SHARP sisters and are named in the 1762 Frederick Co. VA Will of Thomas SHARP Jr. They later lived along Muddy Creek adjacent to the Moravian Tract of Wachovia in Surry Co. NC and one of John LOVE's daughters married a RAMEY boy. The SHARP family were Quakers, The LOVE and RAMEY families were closely associated with a Quaker group but may not have actually been Quakers themselves. In the early 1800s the slavery issue caused many of this group to leave NC and SC. Many went to IN or IL but some moved down into AL and MS.
