I have ton's on the RICHMOND line, and it was common to name the boy Richmond with the new surname to maintian the family surname. Infact I hav several Richmond _____. But none with the Surname SALMOND. There are two possibilities, that your Emma had a parent by the Surname of RICHMOND, or they lived in anyone of the numerous Richmond cities or Counties!!!
