One of my favorite cemeteries is located at historic Purrysburg, a German-
Swiss settlement located on the SC bank of the Savannah River, founded in
1731, yet only lasted up until the time of the American Revolution. It is
marked by a cross-shaped marker. An historical marker sits near its site on SC
Hwy. 34, just outside of Hardeeville, Jasper County, SC.
