Whereas NATHANIEL SCOTT, brewer, owned said 2 parts of lot #198 in Charleston, & on 1 June 1763 became indebted to the Rev. MR. RICHARD CLARKE & SUSANNAH his wife, of Charleston, forermly of London, for L1100 currency; & on 11 Dec. 1764 to THOMAS SMITH, merchant of Charleston, for L 864 currency; & whereas CLARKE (who survived SUSANNAH) & SMITH in 1766 recovered judgments, & costs, against SCOTT, & 2 writs of fieri facias were issued commanding the P.M. to obtain the sums from SCOTT'S estate; whereby the P.M. seized the 2 lots; now he sells at auction to BRAILSFORD.
