Peter E.BRUNSON was the father of Demaris BRUNSON who married William
HODGE, the son of Elisha HODGE. William was born 9 June 1793 (so that
everyone can make sure they have the right William and Elisha).

From Sumter Co., SC Estates-Bundle 6, Pkg. 5- Peter E. Brunson
No will was in this package.  There are 2 sets of documents-one dealing
with personal property and one dealing with real estate.
Personal property was sold 15 Dec 1836. The following people were
purchasers:(I will transcribe this to the best of my ability in reading
these names.)  A.W. SMITH, M.D. BRUNSON, James HODGE, W. L. SINGLETON,
Thomas WELLS, Thomas GARRETT, Ju?. O. HOLLIDAY, H. BRUNSON,  L.
GALLOWAY, Levi GALLOWAY, N. B. COCKERILL, James RICHARDSON,  H. H.
WELLS, James BRUNSON, Benjamin HODGE, W.V. RICHARDSON, and J. W.
RICHARDSON. Total amount sold was $549.28.
William HODGE was the administrator;  on the administration bond is
listed William HODGE, James HODGE, and William NETTLES. Signed, sealed
and delivered in presence of Amos A. NETTLES.

    Property: Summons in Partition:  To William H. Brunson, Merry
Brunson, Leonard E. Brunson, Manning D. Brunson, Lawrence Brunson, Jared
A.(?) Brunson, James Y. Brunson, Willis L. Brunson (minor), Harvey P.
Brunson, Emily Brunson McElvain, Demaris Brunson Hodge, and Mason Reams.

Greeting, you are hereby requested to appear at a court of ordinary to
be holden at Sumter Court House for Sumter District on Saturday the
tenth day of December next to how cause if any you can why the real
estate of Peter E. Brunson situated in Claremont Co. on the waters of
Frontier Branch and ? being formerly 2 tracts of land- one of one
hundred acres of land and one other tract of four hundred acres of land
should not be divided or sold alloting to the said William H. Brunson
his proportionate part thereof, and the remainder to the other heirs in
equal proportions(except the widow who is entitled to one third).
Given under my hand and seal this tenth day of October 1836.

one HODGE), Emily BRUNSON (now McELVAIN having intermarried with one
McElvain), Mason REAMS guardian ? for minor heir Willis L. BRUNSON. On
due examination, it is ordered and decreed that the land described in
the Summons in Partition in this case, be sold by the Sheriff of Sumter
district on the first Monday in January next, on a credit of twelve
months-except so much as will pay Sheriff and ordinary fees, the
purchaser giving bond with good security and a mortgage of the premises
to the Ordinary, for the payment of the purchase money with interest
From the day of sale. Given under my Hand and Seal this tenth day of
December 1836.

Land was sold at public auction to Timothy L. JONES.
