I ordered the pension file for John E. Rhame after receiving it I really
didn't learn any thing new.  I already new that he died in the Ashepoo River
by accidental drowning.  It does say "Drowned at Chapmans Fort, Ashepoo
River, SC July 16 1864."  Can somebody please tell me where Chapmans Fort
was and where or if I can get information on it.  Since I know he drowned,
he couldn't have put in his own application for pension.  I am wondering who
did and who received it.  Shouldn't the files that were sent to me stated
that?  All your help is appreciated.
