does anyone on the list have any info for the Oliver surname? I am trying to locate my gggfathers parents. all of the censuses that I have found him(gggfather) on says that he was b.1817 South Carolina  His name is T.Y.Oliver (Taliafairo) or (Talifer) Yancy Oliver. His wife was Mary Catherine Oliver (maiden name Unknown) b.1828 Ga. I need desperately to find his parents/this is my brick wall !
He has such an unusual first name that I am thinking that this must have been his mothers maiden name. I have run across this surname but cannot find any info. that might link this for me. ANY information would be greatly appreciated. could someone look on an index for the 1859 census for S.C to see if he is listed? I lost them in 1860 for alabama. they are on the 1860,70,&80 for ala.
