St. David's Parish in the Cheraw area of SC was est. by act of the General
 Assembly of the Province in 1768. At that time, the parish included a large
 area which would later be parts of 5 counties.  Constuction was begun in
1770,
 and the church still stands today.
 
 Names associated with early St. David's are KERSHAW, WEAVER, ROGERS, HICKS,
 PLEDGER, BEDINGFIELD, PEGUES, ELLERBE, HARRINGTON, MEETZE, FOWLER, THOMAS,
 GREGG (author of A History of the Old Cheraws). 
 
 Since its Anglican beginnings, St. David's has been used by Baptists,
 Presbyterians & Episcopalians. It is located on Church St. in Cheraw, and the
 graveyard is located next to the church.
