I don't understand how this confusion got started.  The border between SC
and Georgia is and always has been the Savannah River with the only
exception being what is now Oconee County, SC, which was part of Franklin
County, Georgia until the Treaty of Beaufort in 1784.  There are some land
grants in that area only that are recorded in Georgia records.  None of
Georgia, other than a small island or two in the Savannah River was ever a
part of South Carolina.
