MRS CLIFTON H. SHOKES -

Mrs. Lillie Pendarvis Shokes
of 2434 Commander Road, Charleston Heights, widow of Clifton
H. Shokes, died today at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at St.
Peter's Episcopal Church on Rutledge Avenue. Burial directed
by Stuhr's, will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

Mrs. Shokes was born Feb. 1, 1884, in Charleston, a
daughterof John Henry Pendarvis and Mrs. Matilda Pendarvis.
She was a member of St Peter's Episcopal Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. David Garner of Charleston
and Mrs. Julia Petit of Charleston Heights; a son, Lt. Col.
C. D. Shokes of Honolulu; a halfbrother, H. C. Shokes of
Charleston: seven grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
