NIELSON Family

8. Capt. Anton NIELSON was born between Jun 1835 and 1841 in
Selvig, NORWAY. He was listed as being a Stevedore in 1854
in Philidelphia, PA. when he gave Notice of Intent to
Immigrate. He immigrated in 1876 while living in Charleston,
SC. He resided 53 East Bay St. in 1891 in Chas., SC. He
served in the US Lighthouse/Lightship Service which is now
known as the US Coast Guard between 1893 and 1922 in
Charleston, SC. He was a Sea Captain between 1893 and 1922.
He resided at 10 Water St in 1900 in Chas., SC. He appeared
on the SC Census in 1900; and in the 1920 SC Census Index
residing at 151 Tradd St., in Charleston, SC. In 1922 he
resided at 41 King St in 1922. He was ill with Cancer of the
Tongue, and died on 28 Aug 1922, and was buried in St.
Lawerence Cemetery, Charleston, SC. He was also known as
Capt. A. NIELSON/ Antoni / Anthony. He was a Member of St.
Mary's Catholic Church. He was married to Elizabeth "Lizzie"
MACNAMARA on 18 Nov 1877 in Charleston, SC.

9. Elizabeth "Lizzie" MACNAMARA was born in Jun 1851 in
IRELAND. She appeared on the census in 1870 in Chas, SC
(living w/mother). She appeared on the 1900 SC Census. She
was ill with Apoplexy, and died on 30 Mar 1911 in
Charleston, SC. Her surname was also spelled McNAMARA. She
was Catholic. Children were:

 i. Albert NIELSON was born in Jul 1879 in Chas., SC. He
died on 14 Jun 1891 in Chas., SC.

ii. Thomas "Frank" NIELSON was born in Sep 1880 in
Charleston, SC. He was a Mariner in the Lighthouse/Lightship
Service in 1900 in Charleston, SC. He appeared on the census
in 1900 and 1920 in Charleston, SC. He resided at 151 Tradd
St. in 1920. He died on 9 Sep 1927 in Brunswick (state
unknown); and buried in St. Lawerence Cemetery, Chas. SC. .

 iii. Elise NIELSON was born in Dec 1881 in Charleston, SC.
She resided 41 King St. in 1904 in Charleston, SC. She was
ill with Chronic Parencley, died on 3 Aug 1904 in
Charleston, SC; and buried in St. Lawerence Cemetery.,
Charleston, SC.

 iv. Gustaf L. NIELSON was born in Oct 1885 in Charleston,
SC. He resided at 151 Tradd St. in 1920 in Charleston, SC.
He was the Asst. Post Office Suprv. for the City of
Charleston, SC. He died in Charleston, SC.

v. Anthony Paul NIELSON Sr. He married Annie Dorothea
BEHRENS.
