Both have the same nickname: Bud I don't know the reason for the nickname, beyond the fact that both of them disliked their names as kids. Both were born in the late 20s. Was there a little kid in the movies from "Our Gang" or someone in the 20's named Buddy? I've wondered if, like so many Ericas running around (named after Erica Kane of "All My Children"), that this name may have been fashionable in its day.
