Great to be joining your list and hoping to gain information but will
also
try and assist where possible.

I live in Fishburn, Co.Durham, England. A small ex mining community
equidistant from Durham City to the north and Stockton on Tees to
the south. I am interested in the local history of Fishburn which
originates from Ranulph de Fisseburne and his family c1084. I recently
enquired about a famous shipbuilder Thomas Fishburn of Whitby,
Yorkshire
to attempt to establish a connection and received a reply from the
Whitby Archives and Heritage Centre. They informed me that a book,
" The Fishburne Family of South Carolina" by Henry G Fishburne of
Sumpter, SC had been donated to their archives. The book covers
the family roots in England including Whitby and Co.Durham. I'm not
sure how much content refers to Co. Durham but would be interested
if any lister can let me know. I have searched the net booksellers
without
success and would be interested to know if it is still available.
