NATHAN DAVIS OF LAUDERDALE COUNTY ALABAMA - Davis1624
Subject: NATHAN DAVIS OF LAUDERDALE COUNTY ALABAMA
From: Davis1624
Date: November 08, 1999

There are several possibilities that Vann Davis(1740-1810) of Anderson County
SC.was the grandfather of Nathan Davis of Lauderdale County Alabama.

Vann had six (6) sons and six (6) daughters.
Those six son' names and birthyears were:
Hezekiah (1760-1834)...........(26 in 1786, had a Van, just to complicate
things)
Nathan (1762- )...........(24 in 1786, had a Nathan Jr, went N.
then to Texas)
Abijah (1766-1796)........ ...(20 in 1786, possible, even likely)
Van (1770-1838).......... .(16 in 1786, possible, but not likely)
Jesse (1774-1843)............(12 in 1786 possible, but very unlikely )
Eliphas (1775-1832)...........(11 in 1786, had a Nathan, but in 1817)

Of the six sons, only Hezekiah(1760-1834), and Abijah Davis (1766-1796)
are likely to have been the father of Nathan Davis of Lauderdale, ALabama who
I have calculated to have been born in 1786.
Hezekiah Davis would have been about 26 years old when Nathan Davis of
Lauderdale Alabama was born, while Abijah Davis would have been 20 years old
at that time.
Since I do not know the names of any of Abijah's children, his fatherhood is
guesswork.
I only know of one of Hezekiah's children (that is Van) but I do not
believe Hezekiah had such a small family in those times.
( I believe that Hezekiah's Van had brothers and sisters but I need help in
finding them)
Anyone who knows of the marriage of Abijah Davis and his wife Elizabeth
or of the birth or names of their children or Hezekia's other children, I
would appreciate that information.

You may see this plea many times while I search for my ancestors roots.
Please be patient with me.

Bob Davis
