Derrell Oakley Teat The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has revised its schedule of fees for reproducing records. The new schedule can be found at http://www.nara.gov/nar/cfr/cfr1258.html. These increases were necessary because the cost for providing these records to the public is not provided by Congress. Each request is a custom order and thus complicated and expensive, requiring specialized staff for the handling of fragile materials in addition to the costs of reproduction. Also, in response to negative reaction to its proposed new practice of offering the full military pension file for $40 rather than selecting documents, NARA has now decided to offer the choice of either the entire pension file for $37, or a packet of 8 important specific documents for $14.75.
