Subject: My Surnames: TAYLOR,BAYLOR,MURRAY,CLARK/E From: murray taylor Date: August 02, 1999 Hello, I'm new to the list. I'm researching Taylors,Baylors,Murrays and Clarkes at the present time. These people were in the St Johns Berkeley Parish, SC in the 1860 census. Have found information on my great-grandparents: Frederick Taylor b.1828 SC wife Catherine Baylor b.1837 GA Children: Lewis Christopher Taylor b.1854 SC John Wesley Taylor b.1856 SC Isabell Janie Taylor b.1859 SC James Frederick Taylor b.1862 SC I'm trying to work back and find all the information I can on Frederick's family. Family talk is that his parents, two or three brothers and a sister came to Charleston, SC from England in the early 1800s. Have not found any proof of this yet. Have found where Frederick, some of the Baylor brothers and two of the Murrays served in the same unit in the Civil War. There is the possibility that one of the Joseph (F) Taylors from Charleston or the Charleston District might be the the parent of Frederick. Any help, comments or infromation will be appreciated.
