Hi Cathy, I'd be interested to share with you on the ALLEN surname if you
wish. And I hope you do, cause I'm at a massive brick wall concerning James
and Prudence ALLEN.  James was born in NC in 1788 and Prudence was born
there in 1792. They moved to TN, but I don't know where and their son Uriah
Emery ALLEN was born there in 1818. They moved on to Franklin Co, Al, and
finally to Pickens Co, AL, where Uriah married Nancy Gilky PALMER in 1839.
Uriah and Nancy had a large family, and my grandfather Alexander Jefferson
ALLEN was one of their children. Does any of this ring a bell with you?  I
sure hope so.  I can't find anything on James and Prudence in NC.  I would
