I won't love to communicate with anyone who might be researching or have
information on MOSES DAVIS. MOSES lived on the Buffalo Branch of the Long Cane
Creek in Abbeville. He died in the early 1820's.

Or a JAMES DAVIS, one of the earliest settlers on the Long Cane. He gave 250
acres to be used as part of the HUGUENOT settlement.

JAMES and MOSES lived very near HENRY WIDEMAN. HENRY'S daughter LUCY had a son
"called JAMES DAVIS", who was a free negro. I believe that LUCY'S son is the
result of the illegitimate union between LUCY WIDEMAN and a slave belonging to
JAMES or MOSES DAVIS.
