The Broad and Saluda Rivers come together and form a fork about SE
Newberry County...this fork was known as the dutch fork...now depending
on the surveyor the property may be recorded in Berkley County or Craven
County...but it was still in that fork...two very large rivers can't
miss them...Beaver Dam is a creek off the the Saluda I believe and if
you go to the maps section in the Coats Archive you'll find some maps of
it there...url at the very end of this email...

I also have a copy from King George 3rd dated Apr. 17, 1764
for 100 acres to John George Durst. It is described as:
   In Berkley County
   On the Saludy River
Below the mouth of Halfway Swamp

Witness---Thomas Boone--Capt.
Surveyor---Edgerton Seigh
Governor in Council---Pat? Simpson
              ---------------------------------------
At the top of the document is handwritten
                     BOUNTY LAND
I understand a little about the term, would someone like
to educate me in this. Also on another document there
refers to 100 acres as a "MEMORIAL"
I have another ref Margaret DURST.

Still hunting ancestors of Peter DURST b. 1820 Edgefield
