*Tapley B. Tolbert (alias-Talbert/Talbot/Talbott)
Note: the surname changes spellings on his pension papers, and
documents.
b. 1800c d. 28, August, 1836 at Fort McCreary in Stewart County,
Georgia, and is buried on the origonal Fort Site. He served in the
Indian War Campaign for both Georgia and Florida.
Married> Sarah Tolbert (also: alias>Talbert/Talbot/Talbott)
A Soldier confessed under oath that he helped to bury Tapley on the
origional site of the Fort. I recieved a letter later stating his
remains had been transferred and placed on the Gwinnett County Georgia
Courthouse lawn. After further researching, I discovered he was not one
of the actual Soldiers. His headstone marker was placed in his memory at
the Academy Baptist Church in Jackson County, Ga. I am trying to locate
the parents of both of them.

Below is a list of Soldiers who served in the Indian War campaign and
their remains were transferred from Fort McCreary in Stewart County, Ga.
and placed on the Gwinnett County Ga. Courthouse lawn. I hope this can
help someone out there who is possibly researching one/or possibly some
of these Soldiers surnames below:

1-Issac Lacy

2-James C. Martin

3-William M. Sims

4-John A. V. Tate

5-Robert T. Holland

6-James H. Holland

7-Henry W. Paden

8-James M. Allen
