Mizpah Church was built on a lot given by Robert C. Kirkland in 1832 about a 
mile or so from the Philadelphia Meeting House on present day 301. In 1856 
two miles west of the present day Mizpah Church was built at Bufords Bridge. 
It was the only Church ever built at Bufords Bridge. They have a Brabham, 
Kearse, Kirkland, McMillan and Moye Reunion there every year. I have cousin 
that used to be on the S.C. Historical Commisson. I think she has a lot of
