Subject: MIGRATION/PASSPORTS From: Ggbryan821 Date: September 28, 1999 "Passports Issued by Governors of Georgia, 1785 to 1809" and "Passports Issued by Governors of Georgia, 1810 to 1820", both volumes compiled by Mary G Bryan, seem to be an excellent source of determing migration. It is my understanding that you had to have a passport to travel through Indian territory. Some people would get a passport to travel to other places to deliver or buy items and would then return to their place of departure. I don't think it necessarily meant that they actually moved. Please correct me if I'm in error. "Gone to Georgia", by William C. Stewart, has been especially helpful to me. I have found several of my family members I will be glad to do lookups within reason.
