I didn't recognize your name and email address at first, was just
looking at it and realized you gave me the descendants of Martha
Patsy Middleton. Could you email all their kids names and dates again,
I can't find the one I had, but why is because I have 3 file folders and
2 boxes of Middleton info...whew. What a job it is trying to find
something. I need to get all of that stuff organized. I know that
Patsy's parents were Willis Middleton of SC and Martha "Mary" Motte of
SC, do you happen to know their birth dates and places also marriage
date and place, also who their parents were?
Supposedly Willis was b.bef 1771 and was supposedly son of
William Middleton b. 1700-20 Surry Co., VA. This I question as the age
span is too great. I personally think he was a son of Martin and a
brother to Stephen. Being he came to Franklin Co. where Stephen was to
me is a good indicator, I could be wrong. but.....! I do know that in
the 1790 SC census there is no Willis in Georgetown Dist.(Co.), what I
need is copy of Marion Co. 1790 census to see if he is there. But
Willis is in the 1800 SC Liberty Co. census (age 26-45) on same page
#786 as John (age 26-450, Martin (age 26-45) & Sarah(age 26-45)(Martin's
mother?). In the 1810 MS Franklin Co. census it shows Mary, Willis's
wife, and there are 2 more children than listed in 1800, but in span of
10 years I would think that they had more children. Mary is no longer
in any other census, I suspect she remarried (do you know to whom?).
With all those children to raise she probably married very soon, I find
a Martha Middleton m. 22 Oct 1808 Adams Co. to Matthew Shilling, there
was also a Mary Middleton m. 21 Apr 1808 Adams Co. to John Porter. At
those dates Franklin Co. was not formed yet so Adams Co. would be where
they lived at that time. I tend to think it was Matthew Shilling she
married as Porter was too close to Willis's death.
Patsy's sister's were Mahala who m. A. Bucklel and Louisa who someone
said m. Aaron Herring, that is not who she married as Aaron married
first Mary Rowan and second Alief Farrar Middleton (James George
Middleton's wife) and someone else thirdly. Do you know names of any
other siblings to Patsy, as Willis and Mary had in 1810 census:
1 M un 21 - 5 F un 21 plus Martha Patsy, and Mary herself as head. So
there are three un-named sisters besides Mahala and Louisa and an
un-named brother. Is there proof that Mahala and Louisa are Patsy's
sisters? Maybe you can pass this on and see if the author knows
answers to these questions, is she on-line by chance?
