Excuse me for further "butting in", but this is Christmas you know !
Do any of you have any Meeks that may have moved from Laurens County to
Hempstead County, Arkansas ?  These would be Hampton Meeks, wife Rachel and
two daughters, Adelia and Amanda Simpson.  Reason why I bring this up is
because they were granted letters of dismission from Langston Church (Upper
Duncan's Creek Baptist Church) Nov. 10, 1883. This is the same church
"meeting" in which Sallie Compton (wife of Marcus Milton Compton) was
dismissed and about the same time she moved out west.  Just wondering if
these people might have been travelling companions to Arkansas.
