Subject: McSwain-Purcell Marriage c 1807 Marion Co., SC From: Doug Purcell Date: November 06, 1999 Seeking information on the confirmation of a marriage between Mary (Polly) McSWAIN (born c 1792) and Malcolm PURCELL or PURSER (c 1780-before 1855) in or near Marion County, South Carolina. The marriage may have taken place c 1807. Mary (Polly) McSWAIN was the daughter of Malcolm and Flora McSWAIN. Malcolm McSWAIN died in October or November 1807 in Marion Co., SC. Flora McSWAIN died in Christian Co., KY in 1818. Malcolm PURCELL or PURSER was the son of John PURCELL (c 1750-c 1810) of Cumberland County, North Carolina. Malcolm PURCELL moved to Christian Co., KY between 1809-1810 with a brief stop in McMinn Co., TN. About 1820 he relocated to Boone Co., MO where he died. Any information on the PURCELL or McSWAIN family from Marion Co., SC or surrounding counties in North Carolina and South Carolina will be appreciated.
