I'd like to "speak" with anyone researching either of these names in the
Old Pendleton District/Spartanburg area of SC.  I have Rev. Samuel MCBEE,
b. 1785 Pendleton/Spartanburg, parents unknown, moved to Franklin Co. TN
by 1812 (later Marion Co.), died 1862 in Dade Co., GA.  First wife was
Ellender STANDRIDGE who d. 1839; second wife Mrs. Millea FRANCIS, nee
MAXWELL?, who died in Cherokee/Cass Co., TX 1896.  Children: Silas Benton,
James Hale, Asa Jones, and Tennessee, all born to Millea in the 1840s.
Children by first wife unknown.  Samuel's sister, Martha, supposedly
married Henry GOTCHER/GOUCHER/GUDGER of SC.  Henry and Martha were in the
same Primitive Baptist Church (Sweeden's Cove in Marion County, TN) as
Samuel, and are buried near Chattanooga, TN.  Another probable sibling of
Samuel's was William MCBEE, who served in the War of 1812 with Samuel
(enlisted Franklin Co., TN).  Ellender STANDRIDGE was the daughter of
James and Mary (Wallace) STANDRIDGE of Pickens Co., SC area.
