Albert Westmoreland Gillespie from Anderson Co SC bought a house from a
Maverick. (It seems it could have been a Samuel but can't find papers now).

The Maverick House is located across the road from Refuge Baptist Church
(the land for church donated by AW Gillespie). It is just down the highway
From the historic Astabula (sp?) homeplace in Anderson Co SC.

AW & family are buried at Refuge. The Maverick House is really pretty on the
outside.. My husband is descends from this Gillespie line..

And Julie & Tony my grandmother was a Howell. Got any SC roots???
