Robert Shanks bound to Moses Taggart Ord Abbieville District sum
$1,000.00 cit pub @ Hopewell Church. Matthew states that Matthew Sr left
as heirs Matthew, Robert Shanks, James Shanks+ since died leaving
children: Robert M+., Matthew, Alexander, Margaret & Anna Shanks and
children of his daughter Margaret who married Abram (or Abraham) Outon
viz John, William, Sarah, Anna Outon and perhaps others. John Shanks
children: of another deceasd dau, Martha m. John McFerrin viz Anna,
Isabell, Nancy and Dolly McFerrin. Jenny, wife of John Anderson, who is
since dead, leaving children viz Matthew, Mary A., Martha and Margaret.
John Shanks was of Mississippi, Martha McFerrin and family in AL.


I have quite a bit of information on this particular line. This is my
husband's earliest immigrant ancestor. He was born in Ireland (poss.
Ulster?). First wife was ______ Wilson (she was Janes's mother). Second
wife was either named Anne Martha or Martha Ann ______

I have the completed unbroken (as far as I know) line from my husband
back to Matthew M. Shanks. Now I am looking to do 2 things: 1, flesh out
the descendants of James' 1/2 sibs and so forth and get this line taken
back to Ireland. (not looking to do much, am I?)
