He was born in South Carolina around 1825. He married Essie Mary KEATING born in South Carolina about 1825. I think this was her married name. She had children in Louisina (John, James and Mary Keating). John and Essie had the following children in Texas (Emma, Dealy, William and an infant son born in 1860).
