Subject: Re: Low, Middle, and Up Country definition please From: David Dangerfield Date: February 22, 1999 The SC Lowcountry (at least to what I learned to years ago in 8th grade SC History) is the coastal areas, then moving toward Columbia from the coast is the Sand Dunes were the coast used to be when the ocean ran to it. Then From about Aiken to Columbia to Florence (roughly) is the fall line. Then the Piedmont (Middle). Finally in the upper part of the State are called foothills and then mountains.
