Subject: LEWIS DUVALL From: Tanya Fulcher Date: January 29, 1998 Looking for information on Lewis DuVall b. ca. 1750 in Old 96th District, Laurens Co., SC m. Therese ? and 2nd wife: Elizabeth Hanna, dau. of Robt. Hanna. d. 1808 IL - American Bottom District. Lewis is said to have been in the Rev. War, having "joined up" in Laurens Co., according to an affidavit by son John. Children: Alexander Gabriel b. 1774 (my line), John (1778-1857), Benjamin (b. bet. 1770-1780), James (1785-1853), Lewis Jr. (b. bet. 1790-1800 d. 1865), and Elizabeth who married John Frederick Croft, Jr. in 1787. Believe he had several other daughters, but have no record of names. Believe my Lewis to be connected in some way to Lewis and Martha Ridgely DuVall of the Mareen DuVall line. Have seen info online that suggests this Lewis died in 1724 in SC and that a Lewis (possibly the same) petitioned for land in SC Colony in 1716/17. Especially interested in info that confirms this Lewis was in SC at the time of his death and any evidence he may have had a son. This son, if one existed could be "my Lewis' father. Have seen an entry online that listed 4 daughters and one unknown DuVall child, 3rd born. Any scrap of info you can throw my way would be greatly appreciated-- as well as any advice on where I need to search next! THANKS in advance for any help anyone may be able to provide!!!
