Just running our families by again, in hopes that someone new to the lists
will recognize the names.

We want to know more about John CONNANT and Anne LEVY who married June 21,
1728 in SC.

We are looking for connections to Major Hardy CONANT/CANANT b 1765-1774, was
in Laurens Co, SC Census 1800, 1820. d about 1825  ?  He married Elizabeth A\\
in SC.  Elizabeth A was b ca 1751, d July 20, 1846 at the home of her son in
law, Jesse Fuller, in Laurens Co, SC.  He was also said to have married a
Keziah\\.  His children were 4 sons and 5 daughters accding to census records.
We know of one daughter by name, Maria Tabitha Canant b Dec 23, 1784 in
Laurens Dist, SC, who m George Bowen, Esq, b Dec 9, 1784 in Charleston, SC.

Our line is proven back to Chesley CANANT/CONANT, who could well be a son of
Maj Hardy CONANT.  Chesley was b ca 1790 in SC - was in Laurens Co 1820 census
p 005, d aft 1846 in Mississippi (he was in the 1850 census in Laurel Co, KY
and went from there to Mississippi, we do not know date of death). Chesley
married 3 times:
(1) Unknown Name
(2) Elizabeth Cox
(3) Elizabeth or Elicia\\.

We come from his third marriage to Elizabeth or Elicia, who married again
after Chesley's death.  Her 2nd husband was a Holloway and they both d in
Cullman Co, AL.

Chesley's son by the third marriage was William CANANT, CSA, b Mississippi, d
Cullman Co, AL, m Amanda Missouri YEILDING.  We descend from this union.

If you have ANY southern CANANT/CONANT/CANNANT, etc in your files, would
appreciate hearing about them.  We are building a file of this family and the
descendants.
