This is some information on the KIRKLAND families of 
GRANVILLE Co, NC in the 1740's-1765 and
KERSHAW Co/Chesterfield Co/CAMDEN Area of SC.

Some KIRKLANDS are on the MILL's Atlas ,published 1820, in KERSHAW County.
GEORGE & JOHN KIRKLAND are on the LYNCHE Creek and  Joseph & William  
& also DANIEL,WILLIE, & WILLIAM are around that area  north of CAMDEN on 
FLAT ROCK CREEK just east of the WATEREE River.

I have some more research to do, but this information was gather by comparing 
the 1790, and 1800 Census and  also with a 1778-79 tax list of that area.

I think most of these people descended from JOHN KIRKLAND who died in 1773
in the CAMDEN area.
