In reference to your J. P., I have a John P. Courtney b-ca. 1800 d- 10-19-1858
who m-Nancy________. They had Jordan B., James P. Celie, and Altman S.
Possibly other children. This info. taken from some old census, but I can't
remember which one. I was thinking that the census taker could have reversed
the middle initials of Jordan and James. They lived in old Barnwell County,
S. C. in an area which later became Aiken County, S. C. I hope this helps
some.
