pockfretten:  Scarred from acne. Pimples were called "pocks."  In the Ozarks
they use a "d" on the end instead of an "n." pockfretted.

"RUN AWAY from Mr. JOHN THOMPSON, Jun. a white servant man, named PETER
ROBERTSON, on Decemb. 5 past, he's a short fellow, with short brown
hair, somewhat pockfretten:  He had on when he went away, a narrow
brim'd hat, a light colour'd pea jacket of kersey cloth, a pair of
ozenbrig trowsers, and a pair of white negro cloth Breeches, he's bandy
leg'd, and commonly walketh stooping, and pretendeth to be somewhat of a
cooper.  Whoever secureth the said servant, so as he be had again, shall
