AT James Santee Plantation Parish
In Memory of Alexander Watson ,Planter,A native of Fifeshire Scotland.At
Ormond Hall on the 31st August 1840.in the forty nineth year of his
age.He arrived in Charleston in August and was employed as an overseer
by the late JOHN MIDDLETON.Planter.He was a resident in St James Parish
23years By industr skill and perserverence he aquired a handsome fortune
and enjoyed the friendship of all his neighbors by whom he is greatly
lamented 
Also in memory of his wife who with two infant chidren were lost in te
memorable hurricane of Sept 27 1822
