Hi,
My name is Kitty Hamilton Willis, and I am still seeking info about John
Hamilton, Sr. of Edgefield, South Carolina.  He was married to Rhoda(?),
had five sons (two that fought in the Civil War - William Manley was taken
prisoner, and Pleasant-my ggrandfather- died in Atlanta).  The other sons:
John C., George, and David (who died before his father).  John Hamilton,
Sr. was born c. 1781 in Ireland and died 20 July 1858 in Edgefield, South
Carolina.  I have his will, but do not know where he is buried - possibly
in an unmarked grave on what was once known as the Hamilton land, but I do
know that he was once a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church because he
was dismissed.  I am seeking mother and father's names and where in Ireland
he was born.  Can anyone in South Carolina help me???  And just for
information, I am a native South Carolinian!!
